WALNUT CREEK – Cal State L.A.'s Tessondra Williams has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 18-24.
Williams tabbed her third CCAA Player of the Week nod this season after her leading performance in the Golden Eagles 2-0 weekend, with wins over Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State.
The Chicago, Ill. native scored a game-high of 19 points in CSULA's 20-point win over the Warriors. She hit 5-of-11 from the floor, including two from three point range, and seven-of-eight from the free throw line.
Saturday, the senior guard poured in a new career-high of 33 points to guide the Golden Eagles in their 77-63 win over the conference leading Wildcats. Williams hit 11-of-19 from the floor, while tallying ten points from the free throw line.
On the weekend, Williams averaged 26 points, while adding a total of seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block to her weekend performance.
