Tessondra Williams, Cal State L.A.
WALNUT CREEK – Cal State L.A.'s Tessondra Williams has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 21-27.
The Chicago native helped the Golden Eagles to a home sweep over Humboldt State and Cal Poly Pomona.
Friday night, Williams scored 15 points, 13 of which were in the second half and overtime period to defeat the Lumberjacks 72-70. The following night she poured in 25 points to lead the Golden Eagles in snapping the Broncos seven-game win streak.
The senior guard hit 9-of-16 from the floor, which included three made from the arch in CSULA's 20-point, 62-42, victory against CPP.
In 81 minutes of playing time, Williams averaged 20 points per game and seven rebounds per game. She finished 11-for-15 from the free-throw line, while adding seven assists and five steals to her weekend performance.
