WALNUT CREEK – Cal State Stanislaus' Sam Marcus has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 3-9.
Bakersfield native, Marcus, guided the Warriors to upset Chico State in Chico after leading his team's scoring and nailing a game-winner at the buzzer to defeat the Wildcats 68-66 on Thursday night.
Marcus scored a career high of 22 points after shooting 9-for-14 from the paint and four-for-four from the free-throw line. The junior guard also snagged two rebounds, while dishing out two assists on the night.
