WALNUT CREEK – Sonoma State's Will Olsem has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3.
The senior guard led the Seawolves to a 2-0 weekend after recording one of the best back-to-back performances in the history of the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Olsem scored 40 points on consecutive nights in victories at Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. On Friday night, he made 14-of-18 from the floor, which included sinking nine from the arch. The following night against the Otters he hit 12-of-18 attempts with seven made from three point range.
He also finished perfect from the free throw line after draining all 12 attempts on the weekend.
In just 63 minutes of play, the Sacramento native scored 80 points and snagged 11 rebounds, while tallying two assists and a steal.
