Saturday Men's Basketball Recap

WALNUT CREEK - Cal State Stanislaus and Cal State L.A.'s men's basketball teams were back in action on Saturday evening.

 

Cal State L.A. 65, Holy Names 49

Cal State L.A. improves to 5-3 overall and remains 2-2 in conference play.

Jason Tillman came off the bench to once again lead the Golden Eagles.  Tillman scored a game-high of 23 points after shooting 9-for-12 from the paint and 5-for-9 from the free throw line.  

Defensively, Jordan Richard was stellar, snagging 11 boards and blocking four Holy Names shots.

 

Chico State 86, Cal State Stanislaus 48

Chico State was able to record a season spit with the Warriors after a demolishing 38-point win over Cal State Stanislaus on their home court in Turlock, Calif.

The Wildcats improve to 5-3 overall, 2-2 in the CCAA, while the Warriors fall to 4-4 overall, 1-3 in conference play.

Five individuals on the Wildcats staff scored double digits in Saturday's contest with Rashad Parker leading with 15 points.  Demario Sims and Amir Carraway followed closely with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Sims and Parker were assets offensively, even when they were not scoring.  They dished out a collective nine assists, Sims with five and Parker with four on the night.
