Cal Poly Pomona Beats Humboldt State in Conference Opener

WALNUT CREEK – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos defeated Humboldt State 66-54 in both team's conference opener on Wednesday night.
Cal Poly Pomona jumped to an early 17-point lead to help secure the win over the Lumberjacks in Arcata. Mitchel Anderson led the Broncos in their victory with 19 points on the night. Mohamed Fall contributed with 13 points.
CPP shot 55.3 percent from the field and 73.3 percent from the free-throw line. Fall was perfect from the line making five-of-five.
Defensively, Cal Poly Pomona also out-rebounded their opponents, 33-25 and forced Humboldt State to 10 turnovers in the CCAA opener.
The Broncos return to action on Friday Nov. 23 for the Notre Dame de Namur Thanksgiving Classic in Belmont.
