Kyle Zozaya, Cal State East Bay
WALNUT CREEK – Cal State East Bay's Kyle Zozaya has been named the Rawlings/California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 18-24.
Zozaya's strong offensive showing contributed greatly to the Pioneers 3-1 series win over Cal State Stanislaus this past weekend.
Hitting a .647 average and a 1.059 slugging percentage, the senior finished 11-for-17 with four runs scored, four doubles, a homerun, and seven RBI. Zozaya also did not suffer a single strikout in his 17 plate appearances on the weekend.
The Hollister natives weekend performance was highlighted by Saturday's 8-0 series finale win. He connected for four hits, two of which were doubles, and a homerun.
