WALNUT CREEK – The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will sponsor the third annual canned food drives at all 12 member institutions during the month of February.
Each institution’s SAAC will be holding a canned food drive to support a food bank in its campus city. The SAAC is encouraging members of each college community to bring canned goods to a designated drop-off point on campus.
The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos will kick off the month long campaigne on February 1, 2013.
The start of the CCAA annual canned food drive was not only for the collection of canned food, but also to raise awareness of hunger and prevalence of hunger.
During the academic year, each campus SAAC works to support community and campus programs and projects. The Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen Foundation are among the national charitable organizations SAAC has partnered with.
The following is schedule of when each campus will hold its canned food drive:

|February 4-10: Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay|
|February 11-17: Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State L.A.|
|February 17-23: Cal State Stanislaus|
|February 18-24: Cal State San Bernardino, San Francisco State, Sonoma State, UC San Diego|
|February 22-28: Chico State, Humboldt State|
