Chico State Fan Realizes Dream Through SAAC/Make-A-Wish Foundation Partnership

Chico youngster Mason Fontana had a wish to appear on the
children’s show, “Yo Gabba Gabba.” Not any more -
his wish has been granted! The Chico State Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee (SAAC) culminated two-and-a-half years of fundraising
earlier this year by presenting a $5,000 check to the Make-A-Wish
Foundation® to help Mason’s wish come true.
Fontana, who is battling X-Linked Myotubular Myopathy (one of the
rare forms of Muscular Dystrophy), made the trip with his family
just over a week ago to Los Angeles to tape the episode and meet
the characters: DJ Lance Rock, Muno, Plex, Foofa, Toodee and
Brobee! The Nickelodeon network has not yet determined the official
airdate of the episode, but that will be coming soon. Scott
Fontana, Mason’s father, has plans to rent out a local
theater for a showing.
Everyone at Chico State Athletics is thrilled to have been a part
in helping make Mason’s wish come true! Yo Gabba
Gabba!!
For more information, please contact Chico State Assistant Director
of Athletics Mitch Cox, the SAAC advisor.
