Chico State's Hannah Dorman Claims CCAA Runner of the Week Accolade
SAN RAMON, Calif. — Chico State senior Hannah Dorman has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Runner of the Week for Sept. 25-Oct. 1. This marks Dorman’s second weekly accolade of the season (Sept. 11-18).
The Happy Valley native finished fourth overall at Saturday’s Capital Cross Challenge at Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, and well ahead of her closest non-Division I competition. Her efforts paced the Wildcats to a fourth-place team finish. Division I sides San Jose State (62 points), Nevada (82), and Loyola Marymount (115) were the only teams ahead of the Wildcats. Other Chico State victims from the Division I ranks included Sacramento State, San Diego State, UNLV, Pacific, Fresno State, California, and Pepperdine.
Dorman shaved more than 45 seconds off her previous mark set on the Haggin Oaks course earlier this season, crossing the finish line in 20:53.0. Teammate Alex Burkhart was the next non-Division I runner, stopping the clock in 21:26.8.
Chico State wraps up the regular-season section of their schedule at the Western Washington University Classic on Oct. 7
