SAN RAMON, Calif. - After an offensive outburst for Cal State San Bernardino, senior Lauren Nicholson has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 15-22.

In the Coyote’s lone match of the week, Nicholson ripped 26 kills in three sets (8.67 kills/set) as CSUSB avenged an earlier loss to Cal Poly Pomona with an impressive 3-0 win over the Broncos. Nicholson’s individual kills tally was just four kills sky of the Bronco's total kill output on the night. The Upland native hit .382 (26/5/55) with 14 digs and 27 total points for her 12th double-double of the season.

The CCAA Player of the Week nod is the second for Nicholson this year. Nationally, Nicholson’s performance rates as the second-best kills total in a three-set match this season, only trailing Katelyn Dunlap’s 28 kill performance for Urbana on Sept. 9.

The Coyotes begin a four-match homestand this Friday, welcoming the Chico State Wildcats to Coussoulis Arena at 7 p.m.
