Amanda Colla Takes CCAA Player of the Week Honors Oct 17, 2017 SAN RAMON, Calif. - After recording a career high in kills, Amanda Colla has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 9-15. The senior outside hitter from Carlsbad, led the No. 8 UC San Diego Tritons to a 2-1 record on the week. Over the three match span, Colla led the team in multiple offensive categories, including kills (46), attack percentage (.290) and points per set (4.5). In Friday’s victory over Cal Poly Pomona, Colla recorded match-highs of 19 points and 17 kills and a .342 attack percentage. Against Cal State Bakersfield, she powered down 23 kills, the most by a Triton in a single match since 2015, for a new career best. Colla also recorded two double-doubles, giving her 13 for the season. UC San Diego now takes to the road for a pair of key CCAA contests. The Tritons face off against Sonoma State, currently in first place overall in the conference, on Friday and travel to San Francisco State on Saturday.
