SAN RAMON, Calif. - The Golden Eagles swept the final week of individual awards, as Cal State Los Angeles athlete Ericka Taylor raced to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Runner of the Week honors for Oct. 9-15.

The senior from Albany, Ga., and reigning CCAA champion on the track in the 800 meters, recorded a personal best time at the Vanguard Invitational at Fountain Valley’s Mile Square Park on Saturday to earn conference distinction. Her 5K time of 17:31 broke her previous best by more than one minute as she streaked to second in both the team and individual standings. Taylor has now led the Golden Eagles from the front of the pack in each of her five races.

With the regular season racing now complete, the league’s 12 squads will line up for the conference championship at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres, Calif. The women are slated to take to the course this Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., followed by the men.
