UC San Diego's Meagan Wright Tabbed CCAA Volleyball Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – UC San Diego senior outside hitter Meagan Wright was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for 2016 opening weekend play.
The San Diego product was named to the CUI Eagles Labor Day Classic All-Tournament team after leading the Tritons to a 2-2 weekend. Wright was outstanding offensivley and on defense, averaging 21.8 points, 20.8 kills, and 17.8 digs per set.
Wright recorded double-doubles in all four sets played, with her weekend being highlighted with her 22 kill, 19 dig effort in UCSD's four-set win over Seattle Pacific to close out tournament play.
On the weekend she hit .210 while totaling 83 kills, 71 digs, four blocks, and two service aces.
