Gators' Benji Preciado and Tritons' Karina Carstens Earn CCAA Runner of the Week Honors
SAN RAMON – San Francisco State senior Benji Preciado and sophomore from UC San Diego Karina Carstens have been selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, for the week of Sept. 19-25.
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Preciado led the San Francisco State men's cross country team to a first place finish and was second individually at West Region Preview/Yellowjacket Invitational hosted by Montana State-Billings on Friday afternoon.
The Placentia native paced a 5.13 mile and finished the 10-kilometer race with a personal-best time of 32:21.50.

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Carstens had another great week on the course, wrapping up the six-kilometer race at the Roy Griak Invitational in 23:32.6 to finish 16th overall in a field of 392 runners.
Carstens led the Tritons to a fifth place team finish and 209 points, edging out No. 8 Western Washington by just one point and also finishing ahead of No. 16 Winona State.
