Cal State San Marcos' Natalie Rodriguez and Cal Poly Pomona's Mark Huizar Snag Second CCAA Runner of the Week Honor
SAN RAMON – Cal State San Marcos' Natalie Rodriguez and Cal Poly Pomona's Mark Huizar each earned their second California Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Runner of the Week honor this season.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Rodriguez set a new Cal State San Marcos record for the second-straight race after finishing the UC Riverside Invitational six-kilometer race in 20:49.6.
She shattered the program's previous record, which was set by Suzanne Cromwell in 2011, by 21.8 seconds.
The Santa Clarita product finished fourth individually and led the Cougars to a 4th place team finish.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Huizar continues to lead the Broncos men's cross country team, helping them to a 2nd place finish at the UC Riverside Invitational, the best program finish at the annual event in nearly 20 years.
The La Puente native led the way for CPP Saturday, taking fifth individually with a mark of 24:09.8.
