HealthCorps, a non-profit organization that gives teens tools to live a more productive and happier life, Health Careers Academy High School, and the CCAA are teaming up to present a Youth Health Fair at the Stockton Arena during the CCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments.

The Health Fair will take place on Saturday, March 5 at the Stockton Arena (located at 248 West Fremont Street) from noon to 4:00 p.m. Admission to the Health Fair is free. Parking is free in the North Lot next to Banner Island Ballpark and additional parking can be found around the Arena.

The CCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship Games follow the Health Fair at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. Tickets for the CCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament are available at the Stockton Arena or through Ticketmaster outlets.

The goals of the Health Fair are to:

•    Educate the youth of Stockton of the importance of a good healthy lifestyle that exposes them to both nutrition and exercise.

•    Promote healthier behaviors to families in the Stockton Community

•    Provide resources and health services available through local organizations

Many vendors will be in attendance to provide beneficial health and wellness information to the community. Some of these vendors include In Shape, the Stockton Rowing Club, Delta College, RESTORE Stockton, and the Central California Asthma Collaborative. Other booths will be run by Health Careers Academy students on topics including CPR, stress management, and a fitness challenge.

HealthCorps gives teens tools to improve physical and mental health so they can learn to live more productive and happier lives. HealthCorps students exercise more, eat better and practice positive thought.

Founded in 2003 by Dr. Mehmet Oz, HealthCorps’ mission is to unleash the power of America’s youth so they can live productive lives. Its vision is to impact 20% of all high school students nationwide in order to reduce the footprint of obesity on the next generation.
