Wildcats' Kim Wright Named CCAA Volleyball Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – Chico State freshman middle-hitter Kim Wright was tabbed the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6.
The San Diego product was the picture of production for the Wildcats as they secured sweeps of UC San Diego and Cal State San Marcos to improve their CCAA North Division-leading record to 13-3.
Wright hit .567 after connecting for 18 kills on 30 swings and committing just one error. She also added seven blocks and a service ace to the Wildcat attack.
Friday, against a tough Triton squad, Wright hit .647 (11-0-17) and contributed three block assists. The following night against the Cougars, she added seven kills and four blocks to her weekend performance.
