Cal Poly Pomona's Desi Martin Earns Final 2016 CCAA Player of the Week Honor
SAN RAMON – Cal Poly Pomona sophomore Desi Martin has been named the final California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the 2016 season after helping her team to its first sweep of the season, including wins over San Francisco State and one of the top-ranked North Division squads Sonoma State.
The San Diego product put together a pair of impressive performances. Friday, she tallied 10 kills and had six blocks agianst the Gators. The following night she was oustanding, hitting .448 (14-1-29) and collecting six more blocks.
On the weekend, Martin averaged 3.2 points, 2.4 kills, and 1.2 blocks.
