Cougars' Natalie Rodriguez and Wildcats' Kyle Medina Named CCAA Runners of the Week
SAN RAMON – Cal State San Marcos' Natalie Rodriguez snagged her third California Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Runner of the Week award, while Chico State's Kyle Medina earned his first Runner of the Week nod of the season, for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Rodriguez snagged her fourth top-five finish this season, finishing second overall and first among all collegiate runners at Saturday's Mustang Challenge.
The Santa Clarita product wrapped up the five-kilometer race in 17 minutes, 53.3 seconds to lead the Cougars to their first team victory and fourth top-four finish this season.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Medina, a junior from Ventura, ran the best cross country race of his collegiate career this past Satureday at the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento.
Medina finished second individually only behind fellow Wildcat Will Reyes, covering the eight-kilometer course in 23:45.6.
As a team the Wildcats had a dominating victory, finishing first in a field that featured 11 Division I programs. Medina and the Wildcats outscored two Pac-12 teams ranked among the NCAA West Region Division I top-15 in Arizona State and California, along with Division II No. 25 California Baptist.
