Chico State's Camryn Rocha Snags CCAA's Volleyball Player of the Week Award
SAN RAMON – Chico State freshman outside hitter Camryn Rocha has snagged her first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honor after leading the Wildcats their 2-0 weekend, which included snapping a 41-game losing streak that dated back to 1995 against No. 27 Cal State San Bernardino Saturday night.
Rocha first helped her team to a sweep of Conference foe Cal Poly Pomona on Friday night, notching nine kills, five digs and three blocks to snag the program's first win against the Broncos since 2014. The following night the Santa Cruz native exploded for 16 kills in just 26 swings for a .500 hitting percentage against the Coyotes.
On the weekend, Rocha hit .345 (25-6-55) while averaging 4.5 points per game.
