Chico State's Olivia Mediano Earns Second CCAA Player of the Week Honor
SAN RAMON – Chico State junior Olivia Mediano earned her second and the Wildcats second-straight California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honor for her efforts during the week of Oct. 3-9.
Mediano led the Wildcats to another 2-0 weekend, including wins over Stanislaus State and Humboldt State, en route to extending its lead in the CCAA standings.
The Palm Springs native cllected 32 kills in two matches for an average of 4.57 kills per set, while posting a .293 hitting percentage. Mediano also contributed 17 digs, three service aces, and three blocks.
Wednesday against Stanislaus State, Mediano scored 11 kills and nine digs in Chico State's sweep of the Warriors, then racked up a season-high 21 kills while chipping in with three blocks and a pair of aces in the Wildcats' four-set victory over Humboldt State on Friday.
