CCAA Cross Country Teams Set to Open 2010 Season This Week

WALNUT CREEK - California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) men's and women's cross country teams are set to open their 2010 season this week. A total of seven schools will be competing in four events.

UC San Diego will be the first institution to take to the course when its men's and women's teams compete in the UC San Diego Opener on Friday.

The Cal State Fullerton Season Opener will host three CCAA schools on Saturday as Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State L.A. and Cal State San Bernardino travel to Brea. The women's six-kilometer race begins at 8 a.m. and is followed by the men's eight-kilometer at 9 a.m.

Sonoma State begins its season on Saturday at the San Francisco Invitational hosted by the University of San Francisco in Golden Gate Park beginning at 9:15 a.m.

Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay commence their seasons by traveling to Burlingame to take part in the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational.
