WALNUT CREEK - The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) had a total of 28 athletes named All-America by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Monday.

An athlete receives All-American honors by placing in the top eight at the 2010 NCAA Division II Track & Field National Championships that concluded Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.

A total of seven individuals were honored multiple times, bringing the total number of CCAA All-Americans to 37.

Cal State L.A.'s Josh Como and Damein White, along with UC San Diego's Kelly Fogarty, were three-time All-Americans.  Michael Wickman (Chico State), Moriah Jubrey (CSULA) and UC San Diego's Stephanie Lefever and Christine Merrill were two-time All-Americans.

Chico State pole vaulter Kristina Rodriguez and UC San Diego javelin thrower Nick Howe won national championships in their respective events. Rodriguez won the women's pole vault with a mark of 12-10.75, while Howe turned in a throw of 225.0 to capture the men's javelin.

Como earned All-American honors in the long jump and triple jump after placing sixth and second, respectively. He was also part of the Cal State L.A. 4x100 meter relay team that finished third.

White, who was part of the Golden Eagles' 4x100 meter relay team, placed second in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash.

Fogarty helped UC San Diego to an eighth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay and finished sixth in the 100 meter dash and seventh in the 200 meter dash.

UC San Diego placed 16th in the overall women's competition to lead CCAA teams, while Cal State L.A. and Chico State placed sixth and eighth, respectively.
