TURLOCK, Calif. - Fourth-seeded Sonoma State managed just one shot on goal, but it proved to be the decisive score as the Seawolves defeated top-seeded Cal State L.A. 1-0 in the semifinals of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Soccer Championship on Friday at Warrior Stadium in Turlock.

Junior forward Taylor Jones collected a pass from Jomed Tejan behind the Golden Eagles defense and found the back of the net at the 36:06 mark for the winning goal that propelled the Seawolves (14-3-4) to their third consecutive CCAA Championship title match.

For the third straight year and fifth time since 2000, Sonoma State will meet Cal State Dominguez Hills (15-5-1) for the conference title. The two teams split their last two meetings with the Seawolves taking the crown a year ago after posting a 6-5 shootout-victory in La Jolla.

The Toros reached the championship match after rallying for a 2-1 victory over Cal State San Bernardino earlier in the day.

Cal State L.A. (17-3-1) will await the announcement of the 32-team NCAA Championship field that will be released on Monday.

It proved to be a frsustrating night for the Golden Eagles, who held a 17-7 shot advantage, including a 7-1 edge in shots-on-goal.
