CSUSB's Harris named CCAA Wilson Men's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK — CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO guard Prentice Harris has been named Wilson California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3.
Harris, a 6-foot senior from Upland, shot 68 percent from the field and lead CSUSB in scoring in all three games. He averaged 17.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.7 assist and 2.7 steals per game as the Coyotes went 2-1 last week including wins over defending CCAA champion SONOMA STATE and No. 13 HUMBOLDT STATE.
In the CCAA opening loss to CAL POLY POMONA, Harris scored 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field (.714 percentage), including 2 of 2 from beyond the arc. He also made 4 of 5 free throws and pulled a rebound with two assists and two steals.
Against No. 13 Humboldt State, Harris led with 17 points (5-for-9) with a three-pointer and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the line. He also had four rebounds, three assists, five turnovers and three steals.
The next night, in CSUSB’s 75-55 win over Sonoma State, Harris again led the team with 18 points on 7 of 9 shooting (.778 percentage), connecting on 4 of 5 three-pointers with two rebounds, three assists, two turnovers and two steals.
For the week, Harris tallied 51 points with seven rebounds, eight assists, seven turnovers and seven steals while hitting 10 of 11 free throws. He also had seven three-pointers on 12 tries.
