WALNUT CREEK - Match-ups and times for the 2012 Disney’s Division II Tip-Off West Coast Classic have been announced.
The twelve-team field, including six men’s and six women’s teams, will be held November 9-11 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
The field includes the following teams, representing 8 collegiate conferences across the nation. Conferences represented are the California Collegiate Athletic Conference, Pacific West, Great Northwest Athletic Conference, Peach Belt Conference, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and Lone Star Conference.
Participating institutions for the men include CSU Dominguez Hills, Grand Canyon, Northern State, Southwest Minnesota State, University of North Carolina-Pembroke, and Winona State. Southwest Minnesota State and Grand Canyon both advanced to the NCAA Tournament in the 2011-12 campaign
The women’s teams include Ashland University, Gannon University, Grand Canyon University, Simon Fraser University, UC San Diego, and West Texas A & M University. The women’s field is exceptionally strong this year as five of the six teams participating advanced to the NCAA Tournament in the 2011-12 season.
UC San Diego was the top-ranked women's basketball team heading in to the 2012 NCAA Tournament while Ashland University advanced to the Division II National Championship Game before succumbing to Shaw University in the final.
Simon Fraser University, from British Columbia, will be participating for the first time in the tournament. Simon Fraser is participating as a full NCAA Division II member having achieved that status during the summer of 2012.
The tournament format calls for six games, including three men’s and three women’s contests to be over three days. The 2012 Disney Classic will mark the sixth year of the event.

All-tournament passes (18 games) can be purchased as well as daily session tickets (6 games). Tickets to a Welcome Dinner at the ESPN Zone can also be purchased.
